New Ideas and Intentions for the Future of the Guild.

Post by Kazin » Tue May 08, 2007 9:49 pm

Important facts to keep in mind while reading about this possible guild merger:
1. All this information is tentative. These are the ideas we are working out. Nothing is set in stone.
2. Our Karazhan runs will continue as usual, with the same dkp pool, and with all the same people. The only difference is we will have a few more people to fill out the first and second groups.
3. Just because you are not on the initial list for Gruul's lair does not mean you cannot get in. Just like we have core raiders and casual raiders for Karazhan, we will have something similar for Gruul's lair. Progress is paramount.

Ok guys, another one of these posts we all love. So first off lets discuss some background information. At this moment we are doing Karazhan and we are having problems recruiting people to fill a second group. We sometimes even have problems balancing the first group. We have tried many times to recruit new people but it just isn't working and we have serious concerns about the future of the guild. Yes we have Nightbane down which is wonderful, but we need further progress. So we have come up with an idea:

First of all we have been looking for a guild to merge with for quite a while now, and we have finally found one. The people in this guild are great players, they have Karazhan clear with one group, and are up to Aran with a 2nd group. They are people that our officers have known for long periods of time to be good, trustworthy players. The guild's name is Reckoning.

We have been pushing towards this for a while with all the changes we've made recently in trying to find our loyal and skilled players. This merger will be our big step towards the 25 man instances and is just what we need. The idea is that we will each bring our top 15 players to form a pool of 30 players, who will be raiding the 25 man instances. And for those of you who don't know.. we only have about 15-20 people who have above 65% attendance and are loyal solid players who carry their own weight. So we are thinking this is a great idea. Our best 15 players will be joined with their best 15 players who also farm Karazhan, and we will start Gruul's Lair, with hopefully great success. Our Karazhan runs will be kept separate, meaning we will keep the groups we have for the runs, and we will continue with our dkp, BUT we will have a larger pool of people to pull from, So.. our first run will never have problems, and we will have enough people to get a 2nd run up and going. This means a lot more raiding, and a lot less sitting and waiting.

This may seem a bit hurtful to people that may feel left out. But like i said, some people chose to be full time raiders, and some chose to be casual raiders. Also the officers have all sat down and discussed this, and we all agree with everything and are willing to go forward with the merger.

There will be Co-GM's, Ssizzlechest and Opkier, and then there will be 4-6 officers (2-3) from each guild. The raid times are yet to be set, but it is agreed that they will not be on weekends.

So as of right now, our list of players is this (keep in mind this list is a rough quick estimate based on raid attendance, loyalty, skill level, and future availability. Keep in mind, this list is also just for the 25 man raids, keep in mind our Karazhan raids will be kept separate).

REMEMBER: THIS IS A ROUGH ESTIMATE AND JUST BECAUSE YOUR NAME DOES NOT APPEAR ON THIS LIST DOES NOT MEAN YOU CANNOT RAID 25 MAN INSTANCES.

Our Number one and utmost concern during this time is how this will effect our fellow guildmates. We have many valued players in this guild that we see as great friends, and we DO NOT want to lose them. There will still be a casual raider rank in the new guild, and a Friends and family rank for EVERYONE. We are not leaving anyone behind, if you would like to join the new guild everyone is welcome with open arms, and like I said our Karazhan runs will be the same, only with a few added members from reckoning for support.

So, all that being said, take this post light heartedly. Take it as an idea at this moment and not a certainty. Think things over and if you have ANY questions or concerns, please get with us immediately. This is not a post saying, "this is the way things are going to be." It's a suggestion and we want feedback from all our beloved guild members.

Also we will all reform under a new guild name.

edit: Btw, we will most likely be using our forums. I will register a new domain under the new guild name, tweak a few things, and then our wonderful forums will continue being wonderful. I hope that alleviates all the worries I'm sure many of you had. -Phorenn

As I said to Pho about an houer ago i'll say it agen just so the outher officers can see my exact wording. (no offence Pho)

Unless we raid on Tues-Thurs I am Fucked, Those are the two days I put down for to get off work early so I could raid with you guys and I cant change them for atleast 6months. The rest of my week is fucking random as hell so I would have no clue when I could be there and not. So unless we are going to cut into Kara time...I guess ya'll will have to do it without me as normal.
WHO THE FUCK YOU THINK I AM?!

The Title I raid under doesnt matter to me. Basically Have raid will heal. I would also like to add that we still need to base our raid start times on both coast time zones. West coasters that actually have a job will most likely not be able to start Before 6 Server. Other then the start time Im down for some new stuff.

Edit: I want to have Kazins Babies

I think this is a good step in the right direction. Will be interesting to have me, kazin, anuy and ssizzle in warrior chat again.

Been talking to Ssizzlechest, and the way the new guild would be set up is very damn close to what we have already.

That aside, we're both in agreement to have only 1 alt and 1 main in the guild, lest it gets too clogged. The old guilds will still be around for alts and other tomfoolery.

The more I dwell on this, the more I like it.
Euphann - 70 Mage
Opkier - 70 Mage
Punted - 69 Warrior
Murloc - 55 Warlock
Schmetterlin- 41 Rogue
Opkeir - 39 Rogue
Iala - 35 Shaman
Opkeir - 13 Rogue
Then the couple dozen other alts below 20.
