So apparently my spec needs a bit of trimming. I'm staying frost, we know that - but let me know what to fix. ;)

I already noticed (when I filled out my app) to at least take the points out of "frost warding." I haven't respeced once during my mage's career, so a little change could be good. Just let me know!

Here's what it's at now.

Feel free to post what changes should be made.

Since I enjoy both PvE and PvP, it's really hard for me to adjust a talent build, however.

With a focus more on PvE than anything, I recommend this: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 5010051551

Futher alterations would to remove Improved Blizzard all together, and a rank or two of Permafrost into Clearcasts.

Blizzard: Typically with Blizzard, this is the "AoE Grinders" choice of spell, as usually you will get 3/3 of Imp Blizzard and Permafrost, but not Frostbite (messes kiting up). However, the flip side is to get 1/3 Imp Blizzard, 3/3 Frostbite, and whatever of Permafrost, as this serves better in a raid situation, should you need to AoE from a distance.

Alternatively, most Deep Frost mages use Flamestrike and Arcane Explosion as their AoE methods when the mobs can be rooted via Frost Nova. The idea would be to get the mobs to gather all in once small area, Frost Nova them, back up just out of melee rank, use Flamestrike, then Cone of Cold to keep them slowed, as well as getting the benifts from Shatter, then AE spam until dead.

Note on Ice Floes: This is what I would regard more of a PvP talent. I really can't tell the difference between having this talent or not. If it were to decrease the Elemental's CD, then this would be a must talent, otherwise, it's a nice pretty talent, if you have nothing else.

Frostwarding is more for a PvPer who is deadset on using Ice Armor. It was better at 60 when AC values were out of whack (I think I was reaching around 25% mitigation at 60).

Improved CoC: Another PvP talent for "burst damage", or it was at 60. Now that mages have Ice Lance, most of the time in a Frost Nova situation, you'll want to stay at range and use Ice Lance or Fireblast instead. I'm finding myself to use it for it's slow more than anything now adays. Mage AoE spells have scaled horribly since 60. That's another discussion for later.

In terms of the Arcane Tree:

Arcane Subtlety is really great for the free 10 Spell Penetration alone. It also makes Arcane Blast and Arcane Explosion more usable for a Deep Frost mage.

Arcane Focus: Beauty of this talent it also affects Polymorph and Counterspell. Enough said really.

Any other questions, ask away.

It was wonderful advice, thank you Opkier. I do admit that I was skiddish about moving any points out of frost, but every single thing you mentioned wass good. I almost put a third point in to Arcane Concentration, but I decided that I like the slow effect of Blizzard. Thanks, Opkier. I shall forever be in your debt! :P

I <3 your advice.

The Handling of Gophers:

Step 1: Buy a Gun
Step 2: Get ammo for Gun
Step 3: Shoot Gopher.

I always thought dropping high explosives in his burrow in the shape of his little animal friends was the way to kill Gophers...
